PISA II

In this project it is the intention to have a research on the relationship between educational system, the role of the school leader and the quality of education.

In this project it is the intention to have a research on the relationship between educational system, the role of the school leader and the quality of education. School leaders are in the core of this research, by visiting and interviewing each other, sharing views and so on. Researchers will be in the supportive and monitoring role.

The school leader organisations in the following countries have confirmed that they will participate: Norway, UK (SHA), Germany, Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands. ESHA has been asked to give support on the dissemination of the results.

Research expertise will come from Jaap Scheerens(Netherlands), Petros Pashiardis (Cyprus) and Stefan Brauckmann (Germany).

In each country three schools will be involved with a pair of school leaders (the principal and a deputy). Around each school a regional network of schools (if possible) will reflect and cooperate on the project.

The partners had prepatory meetings in Amsterdam on 30 September / 1 October and on 20/21 January 2006. They will apply for European money through Socrates-6 (deadline approximately 1 March 2006).
